So here is the first post on my blog. it is required for college writing class. College is pretty fun so far but yeah i guess i dont know if this should be all ‘proper grammar’ and whatsuch but i’m gonna go with a no this time.

so, onto an actual subject. yesterday i was doing some work for Christian Life & Service and the requirements for he assignment said to include a scriptural reference in my paper. so i flipped open my handy dandy Bible and found 1 Corinthians 12. in this chapter, it is explained that there are a handful of different spiritual gifts in the church. i was raised most of my life in a church where speaking in tongues and ‘falling in the spirit’ and prayer for healings and prophecy were common, day-to-day occurrences. so i never really questioned the biblical validity of it. then i opened the Bible to a random page and found that it is all biblically sound. it is endorsed by paul. which in turn means it is endorsed by God. people always have these reservations about moving in the spirit and modern-day prophets but it is right there in black and white. it was such a relief to see that we werent just acting on my senior pastor’s opinions. or the worship leader’s opinions. but that we were/are acting in accordance with the written Word of God.  so that was a huge revelation about life that i got from doing homework at Bible College.

imagine that. homework for theology class actually teaching me something about life.

it has been almost two weeks since all of us got here. it feels more like seventy-five years. i really like it here but i miss my home and the people there. i am really excited to go home this weekend. it is gonna be a good time. i have to drive victoria’s car home. and apparently pay for the gas for it. she isnt too happy about that. oh victoria is my sister by the way. she’s nice but she doesnt always like me. you know how sisters are. so since i have to drive her car home, i have to also drive it back here. i kinda just realized that i am a little nervous to drive for two hours on my own. twice. i will probably be fine though.

my roomate mak is pretty cool. he is always jamming on his electric guitar. he says he isnt that good at it but i am amazed at his talent level. he doesnt know what he wants to study and major in here at GBC, but i think he’s next in line for the guitar spot on some screamo band. “For Today” seems kinda fitting. or “demonhunter”. maybe not, but that is just my opinion. i guess he likes other kinds of music. not necessarily rowdy screamo music. but he could make a living off his talent and i hope he does. he can solve a rubix cube too. not faster than me, but still 🙂

sooo yeah. that’s about all i got for today.

 i love being here.
